UK IT/VSAT Field Engineer - Satellite Maritime Communications

We are now looking to add an additional IT/VSAT Support - Field Engineers to our dedicated team, the salary is negotiable based on your skills and experience.

What you can expect in this role?

On a day to day basis you will handle a variety of 1st to 3rd level customer/user support requests and provide assistance troubleshooting issues relating to our products including the integration thereof into a variety of complex IT networks.

Although the position is primarily based at our offices in Surrey, you will be required to travel worldwide. If you are a team player, but also good at working on your own initiative and would enjoy an exciting varied role, then start your career in the quickly evolving world of Maritime IT solutions.

What personal attributes do we expect?

Essential Requirements:

• Recent degree graduate or at least 2 years’ experience working within an IT role - Ideally a previous role within a SD or MSP
• Windows Server (2008 - 2016) and Windows XP - 10
• Microsoft Exchange Server (2010-2016)
• Networking skills, including TCP/IP (IPv4) settings, IP and Subnet mask address schemes, VLANs, Routing, Firewalling and port forwarding
• A passport, endorsed with appropriate visa(s) if necessary, which enables you to travel within the European Union Countries at very short notice
• EU Drivers Licence.

Advantageous/Non-Essential:

• Microsoft SQL Server & MySQL
• VMware & Microsoft Hyper-V
• Good understanding of UTM and Firewall products and their roles within the network.
• CCNA / CCNP Qualifications
• HP / Dell storage experience
• Netgear/HP/Cisco switch experience
• Aruba/Cisco/Netgear Wi-Fi access point
• Programming; Java, Linux, VB.net, PHP, ASP, C#, AJAX, HTML
• Scripting: PowerShell, VB, bash
• Microsoft MCP’s
• Experience with VSAT and TVRO antennas or any RF experience

Basic Salary: £22k - £36k p/a DOE, an additional day rate is paid when working abroad.
