Livewire Connections Ltd has completed its 1st refit of 2017 with a new dual Sailor 900 VSAT antenna system supplied and installed to Project Y701 in Malta.
Y701 ordered a new dual Sailor 900 VSAT antenna system to replace a single aged Sea Tel 4006 VSAT antenna that we had previously supplied back in 2006, which had a large amount of mast blockage. In order to overcome the blockage issues and to provide full 360 degree coverage a dual antenna system was recommended and these were fitted in place of two Sailor Fleet F77 antennas on the main mast. A new Fleet Broadband 500 antenna system was also supplied and fitted to replace these and to provide an emergency back-up.
The installation took place at Melita Marine in Malta and the antennas were commissioned on Marlink’s Flex Yachting VSAT service.
