Mega Marine Data Services – FLIBS 2015

After the success of this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show there are, as always, many people to thank. The event staff, organisers, exhibitors and attendees however, Livewire Connections owe an additional thanks to the team at Axxess Marine.

Livewire Connections were lucky enough to obtain access to the popular US data SIM card which could be used for the duration of the show at our stand located in the Yachting tent.

Boasting consistent 3G/4G speeds of 7.5MB download and 1MB upload through the Pepwave Peplink MAX BR1 router, the Livewire team were able to send email, stream videos and message pictures without hesitation or buffering. Considering we were under cover, thousands of mobile devices were in the area as well as a number of yachts using the same service the quality was impressive.

The data plans have been welcomed by yachts of all sizes. For some it’s a cost effective secondary communication source when the VSAT enters blockage, for others it’s a primary communication source in port, at anchor or cruising the coast.
