Livewire Connections is one of Marlink’s largest VSAT airtime service providers and has been supplying and supporting the complete range of regional and global services to superyachts and commercial vessels around the world since 2006. Marlink is currently the world’s leading satellite technology companies and today provides VSAT airtime services to over 2000 vessels globally. Their coverage is global and provides the most extensive coverage available on the market today.
The Marlink Sealink Premium service provides an extremely robust and reliable Global service that comes with 2 VoIP lines as standard with either USA or Norwegian at no extra cost. Local regional numbering e.g UK or France can be provided if preferred for a small additional monthly cost. CAlol charges apply to outgoing calls only.
Contended VSAT Services
The Marlink Sealink Premium VSAT services are contended and offer data rates up to 6 Mbps, but come with a CIR (Committed Information Rate) where a part of the link is dedicated to you. In terms of contention, we know that Marlink manages their network carefully from our experience and takes care not to overload any coverage areas by adding new beams and capacity when required.
Dedicated VSAT Services
Marlink also offers Dedicated VSAT airtime services, which are specifically designed and tend to be bespoke by nature. These can be configured specifically to meet the yacht’s operational requirements to support specific applications or very large AV systems and offer dedicated service rates up to 50 Mbps.
High Throughput VSAT Services
Marlink has recently introduced a brand new High Speed service using the latest generation of High Throughput Satellites (HTS) with outstanding contention ratios of 2:1 or 1:1. The HTS cover both the Med and Caribbean and provides services up to 30 Mbps depending on the router hardware you have fitted on-board. The HTS services can be used in weekly or monthly blocks so are perfect for owner or guest trips.
Telephony
Sealink Premium VoIP telephone lines offer high Quality of Service (QoS) voice calls through an internal PSTN infrastructure. With phone lines and computers capable of simultaneous use, calling a vessel from shore is as simple as calling a terrestrial fixed line and vessels can be supplied with a US or Norwegian numbering scheme as standard or an alternative local number for a small additional monthly charge.
Every Yacht is Different
We understand that every yachts airtime requirements are different so we will look to tailor your plan to take account of you operational needs, with full flexibility to go into 'Lay Up' for yard periods or winter down time. We also provide the functionality to start on a base service level and upgrade as and when required.
